REGIONAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Strick Trailers leads the industry in the design and manufacturing of customized aluminum van trailers used to transport all types of freight. We are eager to hire a Regional Sales Representative to service the Mid-East US to stimulate and identify sales opportunities that support our recent facility expansion and continued plans for production growth.

In keeping with our mission, we believe in establishing committed business relationships which requires personal attention. Regional Sales Reps are therefore expected to travel Tuesdays through Thursdays, 3 weeks of a 4 week month and 4 weeks of a 5 week month, after arranging plans and scheduling (3) or more face to face* sales visits per travel day with end customers and dealers within your territory. Sales visits will include climbing in, out and under trailers to obtain further information for manufacturing. Monday and Friday, as well as one week per month, can be worked from your home office. Aside from the frequent overnight travel to visit selected accounts and dealers, occasional representation at industry conventions and meetings is also required.

*(In light of current COVID pandemic safety considerations, virtual visits will be temporarily permitted as may be necessary)

The territory for this sales opportunity includes Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Eastern Tennessee, and West Virginia. Position will be guided by and report directly to our Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Personal field training will be provided in combination with added, detailed specification knowledge that will ensure your success. Strick Trailers employs team members that support one another and share their knowledge and expertise so the Regional Sales Rep will never feel alone in the field. While industry experience is preferred, position requires 5 years proven sales, business development or other relevant experience. Our new RSR must have a solid, current working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Teams and be able to easily and seamlessly toggle between PC and handheld device to communicate digitally with the Strick plant and customers within their home office and while in the field.

Aside from ensuring our desired coverage of all accounts needed to generate sales revenue, you will also be expected to actively contribute to the development of innovative products and services to deliver and exceed customer expectations. Your demonstrated ability to develop tools to identify prospects and maintain customer data will be an important measure of your success. As a key member of our team, you must also spend 1 week per quarter collaborating at our Monroe, IN facility.

PRODUCTION ASSEMBLER

FABRICATOR

CANDIDATES MUST:

  • Have operational experience on a Press, Plasma Shear, Whitney, and Turret machine.
  • Lay-out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Study engineering shop drawings, blueprints, work orders and production schedules to determine specifications such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brake presses, shears, saws and plasma tables.
  • Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures.
  • Install, align, and lock/flip specified punches, dies, or other fixtures in rams or bed of brake press, using hand tools.
  • Clean and lubricate machines.
  • Sweep and organize work areas.

PAY:

  • Fabricator starting rate of $17.65, increase to $18.15 at 6 months and $19.65 at 1 year.
  • Employees are considered for advancement opportunities to increase pay as skills are developed.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to learn the assembly process to fabricate materials for each department within the requirements.
  • Ability to interpret blue prints and drawings.
  • Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and using a tape measure.

  • Ability to stand and walk for majority of a 10 hour day, bend, lift and carry awkward sized product, up to 63 pounds throughout the day; push or pull product up to 63 pounds several times per shift.

Product Engineer

Job Summary

The Product Engineer works within the production portion of our Engineering team and is responsible for fulfilling all Engineering aspects of a customer’s order. Whether it be though the alteration of existing standards, designs or in the creation of unique variations and concepts. This position, while fast-paced and challenging provides extensive latitude and opportunity to exercise one’s creative prowess. Solving problems through innovative solutions is what we do.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Innate problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work within and actively contribute to a team environment
  • Cradle to grave Engineering oversight of customer orders
  • Interpretation of customer, industry, and regulatory requirements and expectations
  • Ability to effectively communicate though both upstream and downstream channels
    • Collaboration with sales and customer service is paramount in project success
    • Purveyor of internal support and guidance to materials and manufacturing
    • Extensive interaction with outside vendors and suppliers as required
  • Effective methodology and approach to organization resulting in sound multi-tasking ability
  • Development of component parts, weldments, and assembly drawings
    • Strong working knowledge of good modeling and drafting practices
  • Creation and maintenance of bills of material within our M.R.P. system
  • Knowledge of and respect for standards and document management/control
  • Work with Design Engineering team members in development and testing

Additional Tasks or Assignments:

  • Creation and maintenance of process documents, including work instructions & standards
  • Continual quality improvement initiatives
  • Occasional field visits to customer or vendor locations

Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform at a high level both individually and within a team
  • Ability to work with SolidWorks CAD system
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of M.R.P. systems, Infor Syteline experience preferred
  • Prior experience with P.D.M. (Product Data Management) software a plus
  • Minimum BSME or equivalent
  • Must have an interest to work “hands on”
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time

Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Design Engineer will be part of a dedicated engineering team focused on new product development and design along with existing product refinement. This creative and motivated individual will be responsible for the design, testing, and successful implementation of assigned projects that keep Strick Trailers, LLC competitive in its respective markets, as well as drive innovation that ensures our position at the forefront of transportation equipment technology.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work on new product development projects as commissioned by our Product Management channels and assigned by the Design Engineering Team leader
    • To include development of component parts, assemblies and finished product designs
    • Perform project management functions such as Gantt chart creation, management, and project cost tracking
  • Work on refining existing products to be more competitive in our current markets
  • Work both internally and with outside vendors to coordinate testing efforts
  • Collaborate with other design team members on large projects
  • Create detailed models and drawings for assigned projects
  • Update standard BOM’s with new or refined product
  • Create engineering standards for new and existing products
  • Perform FEA analysis on new and existing products
  • Work with and support fabrication, welding, and production teams to ensure designs can be manufactured within our available means, in the specified time and to our quality standards
  • Assist with design or procurement of fixturing for new products or processes which stem from new products or product refinement.

Qualifications:
